PRAY THIS PRAYER TO RECEIVE POWER TO BE
AN EFFECTIVE WITNESS FOR CHRIST
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, according to your Word, you said “He that believeth on me as the scripture hath said out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water... and in this you spake of the Spirit.” I am a believer, having received Jesus as Lord of my life; now, I desire to receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost. In your Word, you declare that “If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask Him?” I stand now, asking in faith, that you fill me with the Holy Ghost. According to your Word, all I have to do is “...ask, and it shall be given... for everyone that asketh, receiveth.” Based on that Word, I believe I receive the baptism of the Holy Ghost, now, and will speak forth with new tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. In Jesus' name, Amen.
